Coffee tour and waterfall hike

Coffee is Tanzania’s largest export good and is shipped all over the world. Since long before independence farmers have been harvesting Arabica coffee on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The majority of coffee farms in northern Tanzania are small scale family farms. You will have the opportunity to visit a small scale family run coffee farm on the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Spend the day learning about how coffee is made from experts, speaking with local farmers who have dedicated their lives to growing coffee, and drinking some of the best coffee in the world.

During the coffee tour take a detour and hike to the Maturuni waterfalls, providing an opportunity to walk through the coffee fields and see how the local Chagga people live. The Maturuni waterfalls are some of the most stunning waterfalls in the Kilimanjaro region. If it is warm enough, bring your bathing suit and you can go for a swim in the waterfall pool.
