Mt. Meru

 

Mount Meru lies few kilometers away from Arusha town, is the fifth highest mountain in Africa and the second highest in Tanzania. On the four day mountain trekking adventure, you are more than likely to see giraffes, buffalos, antelopes and baboons as well as colobus monkeys, unlike Kilimanjaro, when you climb the mountain you have to be escorted by an armed ranger(s) as you pass through the Arusha National Park.

 

Climbing up and down on the same route with spectacular diversified view of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro highlands, Arusha town becomes so fascinating. Trekking Mount Meru takes a minimum of three to four days and the accommodation is in Huts which trekkers have to share with other trekkers.
